Welch Funeral services for Vernon W. Welch, 50, of Olla were held Tuesday with the Rev. Leon Ward and the Rev. Jerry Goodman officiating. Interment followed at Harris Cemetery under the direction of Community Memorial Funeral Home of Winnsboro. Mr. Welch died Monday, July 17, 2000 at Thibodaux. He was a native of Franklin Parish, retired oilfield employee and a member of the Baptist faith. He is preceded in death by his parents, Nolan and Violet Welch; sisters Myrtle Lee Kirkham and Rowenna Peppers. Survivors include his wife, Margaret Ann Welch of Olla; children, Michelle and Henry Carl Young of Thibodaux; Mike and Annie Cupples of Grayson; grandchildren, Kristopher, Krystal, Charles, Devin, Henry, Doris, Tiffany, Tyler and Dawn; brother, and sisters-in-law, Frank and Linda Welch of Crowville; Buddy and Marverette Welch of Gilbert, Tad and Ann Welch of New Orleans; sisters and brothers-in-law, Polly and Jim Williams of Crowville; Lavern and Penn McDaniel of Gilbert; one step-daughter, Vanessa and her children; one step-son, Petie and his daughter; also a host of nieces and nephews.
