B. Weston Funeral services for J. B. Weston, 85, of Winnsboro were held Thursday, September 22, at Lone Cherry Baptist Church with the Rev. Bobby Brown, the Rev. Roger Young and the Rev. Richard Brooks officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery under the direction of Community Memorial Funeral Home of Winnsboro. Mr. Weston died Tuesday, September 19, 2000 at Franklin Medical Center. He was born April 12, 1915 in Richland Parish. He was a resident of Franklin Parish, retired farmer and retired security guard with the Louisiana State Prison at Angola. He was a member of Lone Cedar Baptist Church and Mangham Masonic Lodge, and past member of Lone Cherry Baptist Church. Mr. Weston was preceded in death by a brother, Allen Weston; sisters Eunice Dent, Bernice Cruse and Maggie Gandy. Survivors include his wife, Elma P. Weston of Winnsboro; children, Samuel Don Weston of Lake Providence; Johnnie E. Weston of Jena; Mickey Dianne Higgins of Natchez, Miss.; Mildred G. Miles of Berryville, Arkansas; Michael G. Weston of Mount Bellaview, Texas; and Jay B. Weston of Pensacola, Florida; brother Roy Weston of Mangham; sisters, Audrey McDowell and Virginia Duncan both of Winnsboro; Winona Collier of Monroe; step-children, Joan Mixon of Lafayette; Sue Roberts of Columbia and Bubba Smith Jr. of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; 17 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Trevor Weston, Court Weston, Charlie Weston, Landry Weston, Mark Roberts and Allen Compton.
