Wilkerson Funeral services for Johnnie S. Wilkerson, 80, of Loamland Community near Waterproof were held Saturday at St. Mark Baptist Church in Jonesville with the Rev. B.K. Williams and the Rev. Dave Mays officiating. Burial was in the Old Daughters Baptist Church Cemetery at Wildsville. Mr. Wilkerson died Monday, May 8, 2000 after a lengthy illness. He was a native of Wildsville and a retired farmer. He served in the U.S.Army from 1942-45 and was a past commander of VFW Post #5998. He served as a deacon in the Old Daughters Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Bulah Wilkerson of Loamland; one son, Richard D. Wilkerson of Loamland; two daughters, Mary Jackson of Katy, Texas; Johnnie Wilkerson of Alpharetta, Georgia; four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Henry Wilkerson and Fulton Wilkerson both of Ferriday.
