Gilly a Justice of the Peace, or any other Justice of the Peace for the Parish of Franklin, or any legally authorized Minister of the Gospel for said Parish and State--Greeting: YOU ARE HEREBY AUTHORIZED AND EMPOWERED to celebrate a Marriage between William F. Choat and Mrs. S. A. Thomason of this Parish, and in your doings in the premises you will make return to this office according to law. Clerk STATE OF LOUISIANA} PARISH OF FRANKLIN} BE IT REMEMBERED, That in pursuance and by authority of LICENSE that issued from the office of the Clerk of the Twelfth District Court for said Parish and State, I, Adolphe Gilly a Justice of the Peace in and for said Parish, proceeded, at the residence of Mrs. S. A. Thomason in said Parish, to celebrate a MARRIAGE between William F. Choat and Mrs. S. A. Thomason of said Parish, present and consenting to said Marriage. IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have caused the said parties to sign this ace in presence of W. T. Griffin and Jesse G. Calvert & Isaac W. Choat witness above the age of twenty-one years, and residing in said Parish, who were present at said Marriage and who sign this act with the parties and me said Justice of Peace on this Twenty ninth day of June A.D., Eighteen hundred and Sixty four. Choat Adolphe Gilly, Justice Peace Marriage Bond State of Louisiana Parish of Franklin 11th District Court, Clerk's Office KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS, That we W. F. Choat as Principal, and ________ as his security, are held firmly bound unto the Clerk of said Court in the sum of Two hundred & fifty dollars lawful money of the United States, to the payment of which well and truly to be made, we bind ourselves, our heirs and assigns firmly by these presents. Dated this 28th day of June A.D. 1864. Now the Condition of the above Obligation is such, That, Whereas the above bounden W. F. Choat has this day obtained from said Clerk a License to Marry Mrs. S. A. Thomason Now should there be no legal impediment to the said Marriage, then this Obligation to be null and void, otherwise to be and remain in full force and virtue.
