Kenton as principal and Jos Carter security of said Parish and State are held and firmly bound unto Isaac Johnson Governor of the State of Louisiana, or his successors in office, in the just and full sum of Two hundred Dollars for the full and punctual payment of which sum, we hereby bind ourselves, our heirs, executors and administrators, firmly by these presents, this day of September 11th AD 1847. The Condition of the above obligation is such, That if there exists no legal impediment to the celebration of a Marriage between the above bounden Philip C. Kenton as aforesaid, and Catherine Carter then the above obligation to be null and void, otherwise to be and remain in full force and effect.
