Kenton and Miss Eliza J. Holloway of this Parish and in your doings in the premises you will make return to this office according to Law. Witness my signature and the seal of said Court this Seventh day of August AD 1866 /s/ W. H. Prewitt Clerk State of Louisiana } Parish of Franklin } Be it remembered that in pursuance & by authority of a License from the Office of the Clerk of the Twelfth District Court for said Parish & State I A Minister of the Gospel in and for said Parish proceeded at the Court house of Franklin Parish in said Parish to celebrate a marriage between Philip C. Kenton & Miss Eliza J. Holloway of said Parish present & consenting to said Marriage. In Witness Whereof, I have caused the said Parties to sign this act in presents of witnesses above the age of twenty one years and residing in said Parish who were present at said Marriage & who sign this act with the Parties and me of this 7th day of AD 1866. Prewitt Clerk of the 12th District Court in and for the Parish of Franklin, State of Louisiana, & his successors in office for the time being in the sum of Five hundred Dollars and for the true & final payment thereof we bind ourselves, our heirs, administrators and assigns. Signed and dated on this Seventh day of August 1866. The Condition of the above obligation is such that whereas a Marriage is about to take place between the one bound Ph. C. Kenton and Miss Eliza J. Holloway and if there shall exist no legal impedi- ments ___ the Marriage should not take place then the above obligation to be void; else to remain in full force and virtue according to Law.
