He was a veteran of the civil war and was wounded several times. William Henry was my Great-great uncle and is buried at the Oak Grove cemetery in Grant Parish, LA . William Henry was married four times and had a total of `17 children by three of his wives. One wife Julia Hagen is buried with him at Oak Grove. Julia died in 1921 in TX and the body was returned to GRANT PARISH, LOUISIANA for burial beside her husband William Henry. I paste below the 1921 obituary of Juila Hagen Valentine. AGED WOMAN, MOTHER OF WAXAHACHIE MAN DIES AT MOUNTAIN PEAK Mrs. Julia Valentine, 66 years old, mother of W. H. Valentine of Waxahachie died at her home 5 miles west of Mountain Peak, Thursday night, after a long illness of two weeks, suffering from Brights disease. Mrs. Valentine was a native of Florida, but later moved with her family to Louisiana and in 1873 married at Grant Parish, LA. She is survived by seven children; Miss Mattie Valentine of Lotus, Oklahoma, W. H. Valentine of Waxahachie, Mrs. T. W. Davis of Venus, Miss Lottie Valentine of Lotus, Oklahoma, L. J. Valentine of Palmer, T. E. Valentine of Ranger, Mrs. R. M. Evans of Cheyenne, Oklahoma.
