He was born in 1883 in Laurens County, GA and she in Covington County, AL in 1887. Both are buried in the Hargis Baptist Church Cemetery. He found employment at Big Pine or Good Pine turpentine camp and they lived at a couple of places east of Verda (one became known as the Lee Lasyone place). In 1922 John bought our home place four miles south of Hargis where I was born and lived until graduation from Verda High School in 1951.
