Dall at St. Maurice: From the November 27, 1885 Southern Sentinel Further particulars of the shooting affray at St. Maurice, inform us that Mr. C. J. Dall is the man who was shot, and Mr. Cammack of Natchitoches, is the man who did the shooting. Our readers will remember Dall, as the man who served three days in jail last winter, as a defaulter on a public road. He was doing well at last accounts. (In the old days, able-bodied males in the parish were assigned road duty, a required public service, and apparently the above Mr. Dall refused to do his road duty service.
