He was a retired truck driver and a veteran af the U.S. Army having served during World War II. Services were held Sunday, August 31, 1997 at the Nebo Cemetery of Nebo with Rev. Alban Poole officiating. Interment was under direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Jena. Survivors include four sons, Jimmie Dale Barron of Mesquite, Texas, Larry Frank Barron of Bonita, Fla., Rex l. Barron of Longview, Texas and Richard G. Barron of Pineville; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. (The Jena Times, September 3, 1997)
