Zion Tuesday Afternoon Mrs. Bettie Crew, age 77, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. C. E. Alley in Gueydan Monday evening at seven o'clock. The remains were conveyed to Montgomery where funeral services were conducted at the Mt. Zion Methodist Episcopal Church by the Rev. A. D. Maddry, pastor of the Abbeville and Gueydan Baptist Churches on Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. Interment was in the Mt. Zion Cemetery. At the funeral service by special request of the deceased a short talk was made by John I. McCain of Montgomery, a life long friend of the Crew family. She was a member of the Gueydan Baptist Church and is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Lucy Elliott, Mrs. C. E. Alley of Gueydan, Mrs. J. R. Raples of Moore, Texas; one son, R. P. Crew of Amarillo, Texas, and two brothers, George Gilcrease of Winnfield and Will Gilcrease of Montgomery. (Submitted by Greggory Ellis Davies, Winnfield, Winn Parish, LA.)
