THOMAS FUTRELL  taken from Alexandria Daily Town Talk  12/9, 1998

Thomas Futrell, age 78, of Colfax, died at the family residence at 1:20 am on
Sunday, Dec. 8, 1946.  Funeral services were held Monday Dec 9, 1946 at 3pm at
the Bethel Baptist Church with Rev. J. D. Kitchingham and Rev. H.O. Berry
officiating.  Interment was in the Bethel Cemetery  under the direction of
Hixon Brothres Funeral Home.  

Mr. Futrell is survived by his wife, Ida Smith Futrell, five sons,  George,
William T. (Dool), Luke of Colfax,Sam of Alexandria and A. D. of Urania;  four
daughters, Mrs. Grace Tarter,  New Orleans, Mrs, Ruth (Rufus) McBride, Dry
Prong, Mrs. Cidy (Clarence) Creed of Jena, Miss Joy Futrell of Colfax and one
sister, Mrs. Bell Howell of Winn Parish;  33 grandchildren and 14
great-grandchildren.

Pallbeareres were Grandsons,  T. L. Futrell, Leon Futrell, Guinn Futrell,
Clifford Futrell, Mayo Futrell, Wesley Futrell, Ray McBride and Herman Creed.
