The funeral of Mrs. Dora S. Garner, 87, of Atlanta, was held at 11 a.m. Friday
in Mount Zion Methodist Church of Montgomery, with the Rev. Mark Martin
officiating.

Burial was in the church cemetery, under direction of Southern Funeral Home of
Winnfield.  

Mrs. Garner died Wednesday, January 17, 1979 in Winnfield General Hospital
after a lengthy illness.  She was a native of Winn Parish and a member of
Mount Zion Methodist Church.

Survivors include five sons, Virgil Garner, DeRidder, and Joseph Garner,
Charles Garner, James Garner, and Joe Garner, all of Shreveport; a daughter,
Mrs. Prentice L. Ferguson, Atlanta; a brother, Edwin Stroud of Montgomery;
three sisters, Mrs. Hester Fowler and Mrs. Ethel Nutt, both of Montgomery, and
Mrs. Ida Mae Stark, Pineville; 17 grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
