Mrs. Mary Garner, 77, of Montgomery, Died On April 26

Mrs. Mary Susie Garner, 77, of near Montgomery, passed away on Thursday, April
26, according to an incomplete report reaching this office.  Funeral
arrangements were not reported.

Mrs. Garner was born on March 1, 1884.  She accepted Jesus Christ as her
personal savior and united with the New Salem Baptist Church in 1889 at the
age of 15.  She has been an active member and worker in the New Salem Church
during the intervening 62 years.

Surviving are one son, J. A. Garner of Lake Providence; three daughters, Mrs.
R. L. Pinder of Starks, La., Mrs. J. D. Bullock of Montgomery, and Mrs.  J. L.
Fowler of Montgomery; two brothers, J. O. Bass of Vicksburg, Miss., and
Millard Lucas of Porta, Texas; and one sister, Mrs. India Riddick of
Texarkana.  Also surviving are 22 grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
