Vera A. Gates

DRY PRONG -- Services for Vera A. Gates will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in First
Baptist Church with the Revs. Lloyd Whitman and Jimmy Bryant officiating.
Burial will be in Dry Prong Cemetery under direction of Hixson Bros.,
Pineville. Mrs. Gates, 87, of Dry Prong died Saturday, March 13, 1999, in
her residence. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Dry Prong where
she taught Sunday school for many years. She was an elementary teacher with
the Grant Parish School Board for 36 years. Survivors include one son, Gary
W. Gates of Dry Prong; two sisters, Vivian Tarter of Dry Prong and Marjorie
Hough of Noble; one brother, W.J. Arrington, Jr. of Houston, Texas; two
grandchildren and three great- grandchildren.
