Gibbons Dies Enroute To Hospital John Wesley Gibbons Sr. died en route to Baptist Hospital Tuesday, July 19. A native of Evergreen, Ala., Gibbons was a retired commercial fisherman. Arrangements for funeral services were incomplete Tuesday. Burial was to be at the Pollock Cemetery, where graveside services were to be conducted by Anchor Lodge No. 261, F&AM, of which Gibbons was the oldest living member. Survivors are his widow, Ethel Thompson Gibbons; a son, James Wesley Gibbons Jr. of Pollock; three daughters, Edith G. Oubre of Loreauville, Nellie G. Bennett of Pollock and Betty G. Matticari of Pittsboro, Pa.; a sister, Epsie G. Hickman of Deville; a halfbrother, Pat Gibbons of Deville, 13 grandchildren and four great great grandchildren
