Funeral For Mrs. George Evans Is At 2:30 Thursday

Mrs. Geneva T. Evans, 79 years, 11 months of Winnfield, died at 11 a.m.
Wednesday, August 14, 1968, in a local hospital.  She was a native of Grant
Parish and was the daughter of the late Morgan Brian.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the Sardis Baptist
Church with the Rev. E. B. Barton and Rev. Wayne Toms officiating.  Burial
will be in Sardis Cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral Home.

Surviving are her husband, George W. Evans, Winnfield; six sons, J. W. Evans,
Cutoff, La., G. B. Evans, Montgomery, Johnny Evans, Marshall, Tex.,
Jessie W. Evans, Tioga, Walker Silman, Brownwood, Tex., T. H. Silman,
Montgomery; two stepsons, E. W. and Wilbur Evans, Winnfield.

She also leaves five daughters, Mrs. Lula Smiley, Dodson, Mrs. Amy Shaw,
Tullos, Mrs. Ollie Storey, Groves, Texas, Mrs. Florella Keyes, Chatham, Mrs.
Ottis Lee Evans, Winnfield; three brothers, Joe and Annual Brian, Shreveport,
and Frank Brian, Marshall, Texas.

Fifty-three grandchildren, 56 great grandchildren, and two great-great
grandchildren also survive.
