Burial will be in Dry Prong Cemetery. Humphreys, 80, of Dry Prong died Tuesday, July 6, 1999, in Rapides Regional Medical Center. He was native of Simms Community near Pollock. He was a carpenter and a deacon of the Primitive Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Anna Belle Humphreys of The Oaks Care Center, Pineville; one daughter, LaVerne Miers of Anacoco; two sons, David Humphreys of Baton Rouge and Roger Humphreys of Cooperstown, N.Y.; one brother, Fred Humphreys of Williana; six sisters, Opal Blankenship and Louvenia Foster, both of Shreveport, Bertha Crooks Worsham of Winnfield, Irene Slayter, Pearl Jones and Bobby Humphreys, all of Dry Prong; 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
