Reid and Bob Boyt officiating. Burial will be in Shady Grove Cemetery, Colfax. Hyde, 76, of Colfax died Wednesday, Feb. 17, 1999, in his residence. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II having served in Rhineland, Central Europe and northern France. He received the EAMC Medal, three Bronze Stars and a Meritorious Service Unit Plaque. He was a former electrician for Central Louisiana Electric Company and was the former owner and operator of Hyde Hardware and Electric Store in Colfax. He was also a former member of the Grant Parish School Board and a member of Colfax United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife, Emma Lee Fredieu Hyde of Colfax; one son, James Clay Hyde of Colfax; two daughters, Nena Hyde Morris of Tyler, Texas, and Janene Hyde Sudduth of Colfax; two sisters, Katherine Hyde of Bossier City and LaVerne H. Tisdale of Haughton; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
