Retired from the U.S. Air Force, a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a resident of Baton Rouge, he died at 3:15 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 14, 1999, at Baton Rouge General Medical Center. He was 81 and a native of Colfax. Visiting at Greenoaks Funeral Home chapel, 9595 Florida Blvd., 10 a.m. until religious services at 3 p.m. Tuesday, conducted by the Rev. Don Hall of Broadmoor United Methodist Church. He will be interred in Greenoaks Memorial Park following full military honors provided by Keesler Air Force Base. A beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, he is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Carol and Paul Dykes of Baton Rouge, and Dorothy Smith of Mississippi; three sons and daughters-in-law, Russell and Starr Lasyone of Baton Rouge, Sidney and Laurie Lasyone of Plaquemine, and Ronald and Lolita Lasyone of Watson; 10 grandchildren, Amy Lasyone, Gwendolyn Wheeler, Jennifer Savoy, Danielle Lasyone, Mary Hebert, Cherie Norris, Ronald Lasyone Jr., Brandon Lasyone, Eric Lasyone and James Hebert; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Clyde Lasyone and O.J. Lasyone, both of Shreveport; and a sister, Helen Martin of Lafayette. His beloved wife of 49 years, Myrtle Evelyn Lasyone; his parents, Oscar and Lucy Lasyone; five brothers and six sisters preceded him. He lived his life in God's grace and for his family. He will remain in our hearts and not forgotten. The family wishes to thank Dr. Frederick Hackley for his kindness during this difficult time and the compassionate care he gave our father.
