Last Rites For Mrs. Ben E. Melton Nov. 22

Mrs. Viola Howell Melton, 81, of Packton, died in the local hospital at 9:20
p.m.
November 20, 1973.  She was the wife of Ben Elbert Walker Melton of Packton.

Funeral services will be conducted at Hixson Brothers Funeral Home, Winnfield,
at 2 p.m. Thursday, November 22, with Rev. Otis Davison and Rev. D. G. Boyett
officiating.  Burial will be in the Tyson Cemetery near Georgetown under the
direction of Hixson Brothers.

Survivors are her husband, Ben Elbert Walker Melton; three sons, Lyndley M.
Melton, Georgetown, Phillip C. Melton, Lone Pine, Nebraska, and W. K. Melton,
Onward, Miss.; five daughters, Mrs. Byron (Bobbie) Tullos, Winnfield, Mrs.
Charlotte McFarland, Winnfield, Mrs. Mary Thompson, Little Rock, Ark., Mrs.
Fannie Coleman, Olla, La., Mrs. Nancy Sledge, New Orleans; two sisters, Mrs.
Alma Walton, Marshall, Tex., and Mrs. Grace Rosenblath, Shreveport; one
brother, P. D. Howell, Winnfield; 23 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
