Funeral Services Friday at 2 P.M. For J. A. Patton

Funeral services will be held Friday, March 7, at 2 p.m. at the Verda Baptist
Church for James Andrew Patton, 92, of Verda, La., who died in his sleep
Sunday at 9 p.m.

Mr. Patton was a retired school teacher.  He was a dean of scholars in this
section of Louisiana and was well known for that fact.  His birthplace was
Shelby County, Illinois.

He is survived by two sons, S. L. Patton of Pineville, and E. H. Patton of
Watson, Ill.; one daughter, Mrs. C. A. Rocks of Champaign, Ill.; a brother, E.
H. Patton of Longwood, Miss., eight grandchildren and three great
grandchildren. 

Hixson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
