All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** >From the September 2, 1949 Winnfield News-American Funeral Services For Frank Poole, 76, Held At Mars Hill Funeral services were held at the Mars Hill Church at 3:30 p.m. August 29 for Frank Poole, 76, who died at his home in Atlanta on August 27. Rev. Louis Williams, Rev. Smith, pastor of the Atlanta Church, and Rev. Mose Mercer were in charge of funeral services. Interment was in the Mars Hill Cemetery with the Southern Funeral Home in charge. Pallbearers were: E. W. Deen, Murphy Worsham, Earl Davidson, C. Teddlie, Pew McLaren, and A. Greer of Monroe. The deceased is survived by his wife, Mrs. Emma Dixon Poole, to whom he had been married over 50 years, three sons, Jake and Edd Poole of Oklahoma, Steve Poole of Glenmora; four daughters, Mrs. Robert Mathews, Monroe; Mrs. Fred E. Day of Lake Charles, Murriel Poole of St. Louis, Mo., and Georgia Poole of Sacramento, Calif.; one brother, Lon Poole, and one sister, Mrs. Hub Worsham of Winnfield. One son, Olen, preceded his father in death. Ten grandchildren and one great grandchild also survive. The deceased was a member of Mars Hill Baptist Church.
