METTIE RACHAL

   Mettie Mayme Rachal, 74, died at 7:15 p.m. Wednesday in an Alexandria
hospital. She was a resident of Colfax and a native of Winn parish.

   She is survived by her husband, Albert Rachal of Colfax; one son,
Marvin Rachal of Colfax; one daughter, Mrs. Obera Stanfield of Baton
Rouge; one sister, Mrs. Bertha Hayes of Shreveport, five grandchildren
and five great-grandchildren.

   Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. today in Summerfield Baptist
church. Burial was in the Mars Hill cemetery under direction of Hixon
Bros. Funeral Home of Alexanderia.
