Roach Dies On Dec. 12 John M.Roach of Dry Prong died in an Alexandria hospital Dec, 12 at 11:30 a. m. following a lengthy illness. He was 79 years and 4 months of age at the time of death. He was a veteran of World War I and was given the Victory medal for having served in five major expeditions. He also served under General Pershing in the Mexican War. He was a retired employee of the Kisatcliie National Forest. He is survived by one brother Mac D. Roach of Monroe and one sister, Mrs. Sallie Peters of Dry Prong, six nieces, seven nephews and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held in the Chapel of Hixson Brothers at 3:30p. rn. Thursday, Dec. 13 with the Rev. Wilburn Taylor and the Rev. Guy Allen officiating. Interrnent followed in the 0akGrove Cemetery near Bentley. Pallbearers:were Denver Tarter, Melvin Tarter, Jack Tarter, Paul Ayrnond, Hal Brunson and Robert Roach.
