SIMMONS April 7, 1944 Winnfield News-American Funeral Services For Mrs. S. Simmons At Friendship Sun. Funeral services for Mrs. Sarah Simmons, wife of W. M. Simmons of Sikes, who died in the Baptist Hospital in Alexandria Thursday, March 30, were held last Sunday at the Friendship Church and interment followed in the Mineral Springs Cemetery. Services were conducted by the Rev. Margin Atkins, pastor of the Calvin Baptist Church, and Judge Cas Moss of Winnfield. The deceased was a member of the Zion Hill Baptist Church. Surviving her are her husband, W. M. Simmons, three daughters, Mrs. Ora Crain, Gaars Mill, Mrs. E. C. Gates, Sikes, and mrs. Maggie Martin, Monroe; six sons, W. V. Simmons and Guy Simmons of Sikes, H. E. Simmons, Shreveport, M. S. Simmons, U. S. Navy, P. C. Simmons, Shreveport, and K. C. Simmons, Calvin; one sister of Oak Grove and one brother, Belford Fox of Chatham. Serving as pall bearers were her grandsons, Fred Tucker, C. M. Martin, Ray Simmons, E. C. Gates, Kermit Crain, and Edgar Simmons.
