SARAH JANE LOVELL SLAYTER Alexandria Town Talk, Aug 24, 1952 Mrs. Sarah Jane Lovell Slayter Mrs. Sarah Jane Lovell Slayter, died Friday Aug 22, 1952 at 3:40 pm. She is survived by five sons. W.J. Slayter and J. H. Slayter of Dry Prong, W.M. Slayter of Laird Hill, Texas, C.E. Slayter of Overton, Texas and A.E. Slayter of Cleveland, Ohio; four daughters, Mrs. J.L. Shaw of Elizabeth, La., Mrs. Lonnie Welch. Mrs J.E. Monroe, and Mrs. J.F. Fox all of Dry Prong; five brothers, Jim Lovell of Atlanta, La., Bill Lovell of Alexandria, Buck Lovell of Tucson, Arizona, John Lovell of Winnfield, La., and Tim Lovell of Dry Prong; one sister Mrs. Tom Bass, of Nacodoces; 44 grandchildren, and 24 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Saturday, Aug. 23 1952 at 2 pm at Corinth Baptist Church with the Revs. R.P. Reeves, Alfred Slater, Ory Miller, and Leonard Garlington, officiating, Interment was in the Frazier Cemetery, under the direction of the Hixon Brothers Funderal Home.
