VERA POWERS SLAYTER  
 
    Mrs. Vera Powers Slayter of  Pineville died at 9:15 A.M., Wednesday,
January 26, 1994, in Hilltop Nursing Home, Pineville.  

    Mrs. Slayter was born February 6, 1887, in Lake Arthur, Louisiana.  She
was the oldest member of Pineville Park Baptist Church.  

    She was preceded in death by her husband, Wesley Slayter. 
 
    Survivors include two sons, Reverend Ray Slayter of Pineville and Reverend
Alfred Slayter of Anna, Illinois; one daughter, Betty Slayter Stagg of
Arkadelphia, Arkansas one sister, Irma Roberts of Georgia; twenty
grandchildren and numerous great and great grandchildren.  

    Services:  2:   P.M., Friday, January 28, 1994, in the Chapel of Hixon
Brothers with Reverend John Harris officiating.  

    Interment: Dry Prong Cemetery  

    Memorials may be made to Pineville Park Baptist Church, 2455 Hwy 28E,
Pineville, Louisiana 71360.
