Burial was in Mars Hill Cemetery near Montgomery. Mrs. Slayter, 80 is survived by her husband, Alton E. Slayter of Shreveport; one son, James Walter Slayter of Beaumont, Texas; one daughter, Frances Ball of Shreveport; four sisters, Cleo Riley of Shreveport, Tennie Oliver of Lake Charles, Ruth Gaines of Jackson, Miss. and Edith Graham of Manchester, N.H.; one brother, Sexton Hickman of Montgomery; six grandchildren and tow great-grand children. Pallbearers were Jim Slayter, William Ball, Jr. Edward Ball, Lee Riley, Oscar Poole, and Leo Walters. Rev. Kenneth Church, associate pastor of Sunset Church of God, Shreveport and Rev. Don Dedley, pastor of First Church of God, Bossier City, officiated at the services.
