Essix Smith
Services for Essix Smith will be at 3 p.m. today in the chapel of Hixson
Bros., Pineville, with the Rev. David Schultz officiating. Burial will be in
Lone Pine Cemetery, Bentley.

Smith, 70, of Dry Prong died Sunday, March 14, 1999, in Rapides General
Hospital. He was a member of Hudson Creek Baptist Church and a heavy
equipment operator for 42 years. Survivors include his wife, Mildred Ashmore
Smith of Dry Prong; three sons, Larry W. Smith of Allen Town, Penn, Jackie
L. Smith of Dry Prong, Wendell Smith of Prairieville; three daughters,
Shirley Walker of Dry Prong, Sherri D. Wells of Dry Prong and Karla
Valentine of Alexandria; 21 grandchildren and three great- grandchildren.
Friends may call from 8 a.m. until time of services today in the funeral
home.
