STROUD Feb 02, 1897 - Aug 14, 1963 Alexandria Town Talk, Aug 1963 Montgomery, La. - Funeral services for George A. Stroud 66 of Montgomery, were to be held at 3 p.m. today in Mt. Zion Methodist church with Rev Dell Durant and Rev. Barnett Ates officiating. Burial was to be in the church cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral home of Winnfield. Stroud died Wednesday in an Alexandria hospital after a long illness. He was a native of Montgomery. Survivors are his wife, Bertha Thompson Stroud; two sons, Hershal Stroud of Shreveport and G. W. Stroud of Bossier City; one daughter, Mrs. Charles Garner of Shreveport; three brothers, Houston Stroud and Edwin Stroud of Montgomery, and Harrison Stroud of Shreveport; four sisters, Mrs. Dora Garner of Atlanta, Mrs. Hester Fowler and Mrs. Ethel Nutt, both of Montgomery, and Mrs. Ida Mae Starks of Alexandria, and seven grandchildren.
