THOMPSON Aug 14, 1915 - Dec 12, 1994 Colfax Chronicle Winnfield- Services for Arles W. Thompson will be at 2 PM today in the chapel of Southern with the Revs. Mike and Retha Corrigan officiating. Burial will be in Mount Zion Church Cemetery, Montgomery. Thompson, 79, of Montgomery died Monday, Dec 12, 1994, in Winn Parish Medical Center. He was a retired employee of Central Louisiana State Hospital. Survivors include his wife, Lillie A. Thompson of Montgomery; one son, Pete Thompson of Madison, Tenn; four daughters, Lola Norwood of Shreveport, Sandra Griffin of Ball, Joan Holmes of Winnfield and Rhoda Vercher of Montgomery; one brother, Eugene Thompson of Farmington, N.M.; three sisters, Tommie Thompson of Biloxi, Miss, Doris Lonlgro of Natchez, Miss., and Jarrel Skains of Montgomery; 16 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Pallbearers will be John Griffin, Don Norwood, Jimmy Holmes, Richard Vercher, Kevin McKraken and DeWayne Thompson. Friends may call from 8:30 AM until time of services today in the funeral home. Notes: Arles was the son of Daniel Jasper and Ella Horn Thompson. His grandparents were Benjamin & Sarah Phillips Thompson and John W. & Mary Francis Piggot Horn. He was born and raised on the Campground Road just north of Montgomery, La. Arles was my grandfather.
