The Colfax Chronicle, Colfax Louisiana, Friday January 14, 1927

VALENTINE---"At his home in Dry Prong, Grant Parish, La. at 7:30
P. M. on Monday, January 10, 1927. John Valentine , born June 21,
1836, departed this life aged 90 years, 6 months and 19 days.
The deceased was a veteran of the Civil War and a faithful
christian throughout his life. 

He is survived by one son and two daughters, Mr. J. E. Valentine
and Mrs M. E. Coleman of Dry Prong, and Mrs. N. J. Lawrence of
of Jonesboro, La. 

Funeral services were at the Oak Grove Baptist church at 4 o'clock
Tuesday , Jan. 11, interment being made at Oak Grove cemetery.
