Father of Mrs. J. L. Calhoun and Member of David Pierson Camp Succumbs W. H. Wallace, Confederate Veteran, member of the David Pierson Camp of Winn Parish was claimed by death early Tuesday after an illness of many months. Mr. Wallace broke one of his legs about nine months ago and has been in ill health since that time. Mr. Wallace was born in Meridian, Miss., but made his home in the Verda Community the greater part of his life. He was nearly 85 years old at the time of his demise. The deceased is survived by one daughter, Mrs. John L. Calhoun, of Winnfield, and two sons, D. H. Wallace and J. E. Wallace, of Verda, and a host of grandchildren. Funeral services were held at Verda Tuesday afternoon with interment in the Mars Hill Cemetery. Mr. and Mrs. Calhoun and family from here attended the services.
