WOODS February 18, 1949 Winnfield News-American Mrs. Ida S. Woods, 90, Of Verda, Is Buried at Atlanta Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 8, for Mrs. Ida S. Woods, 90, of Verda, who died at 7:30 a.m. Monday following an illness of 18 months. Rites were conducted by the Rev. Frank Isreal and interment was in the Atlanta Cemetery under the direction of Hixon Brothers Funeral Home. Pallbearers were C. A. Frasier, Benjamin D. Wilson, Robert Fullerton, Jr., Bennie F. Broussard and F. M. Johnson. The deceased was born at Columbia, La., on July 9, 1858 and was well known for many years in Winn Parish. She was a member of the Verda Baptist Church, and had resided at Verda for the past 25 years. She is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Mary Dunlap of Folsum, La., Mrs. Bell Broussard of Huttig, Ark., Mrs. Eva Wilson of Covington, Mrs. E. H.. Frasier of Lake Providence, and Mrs. Effie Calvin of Shreveport, all of who were born Strattons by a former marriage of Mrs. Woods, and a number of grandchildren.
