All rights reserved. http://theusgenweb.net/copyright.htm ************************************************ Bertha Crooks Worsham (January 30, 1911 - July 4, 2006) Mrs. Bertha Crooks Worsham, age 95, of Winnfield, La., passed away Tuesday, July 4, 2006, at the Winnfield Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Winnfield, La. She was a member of the Laurel Heights Baptist Church in Winnfield, La. Mrs. Bertha also taught Sunday School for many years at the Hebron Baptist Church in Dry Prong, La. She was the daughter of the late Robert Humphreys and the late Ruby (Delaney) Humphreys. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Elmus E. Crooks, three brothers and three sisters. She is survived by her One Daughter, Carolyn Baxley and husband Earnest of Winnfield, La. One Son, Billy R. Crooks and wife Billie of Dry Prong, La. Three Granddaughters, Gilda Davis and husband Roger of Dry Prong, La.; Belinda Kendrick and husband Ronnie of Jena, La.; Kristy Avant and husband Terry of Winnfield, La. One Grandson, Jay Baxley and wife Chesney of Winnfield, La. Six great-grandchildren Three great-great grandchildren Three Sisters, Irene Slayter and Pearl Jones of Dry Prong, La.; Opal Blankenship of Shreveport, La. Services are under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield, La., where the family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM Thursday, July 6, 2006 and from 8:30 AM to 10:00 AM Friday, July 7, 2006. Funeral services will be held at Southern Funeral Home at 10:00 AM Friday, July 7, 2006 , with Rev. John Holland officiating. Interment will be at Hebron Cemetery in Dry Prong, La. ===== Mary Corrinne Pickrel (January 13, 1936 - August 31, 2006) Mrs. Mary Corrinne Jennings Pickrel, age 70 of Seabrook Texas, passed away Thursday, August 31, 2006 at her residence. Mrs. Pickrel was born January 13, 1936 at Montgomery, Louisiana. She is the youngest of three girls and the daughter of the late Rufus Jennings and Pearl Garner Jennings. Mrs. Pickrel is survived by: two sons, Gary Pickrel of League City, Tx. And Guy Pickrel of Seabrook, Tx.; two nieces, three nephews, and nine great nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by two sisters: Mattie Jowers and Marlene Anderson. Funeral services for Mrs. Pickrel will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday in the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church near Montgomery with Rev. Helene Walker officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Zion Cemetery under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield.
