King was born at Fausse Point, Louisiana, in 1866. He is a son of E. T. King and Margaret A. Marsh. The former is a native of Alabama, born in Maringo county in 1823, the latter was born in 1834. They were married in 1858, and became the parents of two children, both boys, our subject being the younger. E. T. King served for a period of four years in the late war with the rank of captain. He was at one time a sugar planter, but is now engaged in the manufacture of bricks. His wife is still living. Henry A. King received his education at the University of Alabama, graduating from that institution in 1886. He thereupon began reading medicine under Dr. T. J. Wolf, after which he attended lectures in New Orleans, receiving his diploma in 1889, and has been practising [sic] here.
