He is the son of Charles Koch and Mary Meyer. Charles Koch was born in Germany in 1824. He died in 1880. Mary Meyer Koch is a native of New Orleans. The subject of this sketch received a good business education and began life as a druggist. He studied pharmacy at the Tulane University, graduating from this department in 1879. Immediately after completing his studies he opened a large drug store in New Iberia, which he has since conducted. Mr. Koch is a member of the Knights of Pythias, and was the organizer of the society in this place. He is also a prominent member of the Episcopal church. Mr. Koch is united in marriage with Miss Louella Fisher, of Iberia parish. They are the parents of two children. Southwest Louisiana Biographical and Historical, Biographical Section, p. 116.
