He is the son of George Simon, who was in the revenue department in Germany nearly all of his life. George Simon received his education from one of the best institutions of his native place. After coming to this country in 1866 he traveled for some time in the United States and Mexico, and, in 1876, located in New Iberia, and became manager of the foundry business of F. S Lutzenburger, fifteen years after which he took charge of the business on his own account. Mr. Simon is one of the energetic men of this place. He was married in 1873 to Miss Julia Lutzenberger.
