(New Iberia, La.) 1902-1944, December 05, 1914, Image 4 December 5, 1914 ELKS MEMORIAL SERVICES. - The custom annually of the New Iberia Lodge B. P. O. Elks No. 554 holding memorial services over their departed brothers will be carried out in all its solemnity to-morrow afternoon. December 6th at four o'clock in their spacious meeting room by the officers and members of that worthy charitable and benevolent Association. The program as arranged is as follows: Invocation - Rev. A. S. Lutz - Lead Kindly Knight - Elks Chorus - The Order and its Dead - Walter J. Burke - Vocal Solo - Miss May Darby - Eulogy - Judge V. J. Smith - Violin Solo - Miss Ello DeBlanc Accompanied by Misses Laurence Broussard and Sis Renoudet, Benediction - Rev. J. M. Langlois. Since the year 1904 New Iberia Lodge has had stricken from its active roster, twenty-five worthy members due to death, the last being the late Frank J. Mestayer and all of them being citizens who stood high in the communities where they resided, most of them being natives and residents of New Iberia. The list is as follows: Geo. L. Delahoussaye, died Feb. 28, 1904; William B. Gray died Oct. 16, 1905; Henry E. Suberbielle died May 29, 1906; L. A. McKinnon died Sept. 11, 1906; Gilbert Bonin died March 9, 1907; James R. Dampier, died Jan. 11, 1908; John Broussard died Aug. 5, 1908; Emanuel G. Soulier died Sept. 15, 1908; Millard F. Smith died Sept. 20, 1909; Walter M. Gates died Dec. 23, 1909; Henry F. Levy, died Jan. 29, 1910; Chas. C. Clerc, died April 29, 1910; J. L. Schexnayder died Aug. 18, 1910; Leonard S. Frere died May 17, 1911; F. M. Welch died April 6, 1912; John B. Newman died Dec. 28, 1912; Gabriel Landry died July 21, 1913; Michel C. Romero died Nov. 26, 1913; Victor J. Erath died Dec. 16, 1913; Thomas R. Morse died Jan. 27, 1914; Nicholas Muller Feb. 15, 1914; John R. Davis died May 21, 1914; Frank J. Mestayer died Nov. 15, 1914.
