(New Iberia, La.) 1902-1944, December 27, 1902, Image 3 December 27, 1902 At an early hour this morning, the sugar house and contents of "Elma" Plantation, formerly the "Sarah" was burned to the ground before assistance could be given. Being entirely of wood the structure is a total loss including sugars therein. The property was insured for $27,000, about one half value, and was owned by Landry, Lanneaux & Co.
