Alfred, one of the best known Masons in Louisiana, died at his home, 826 Henry Clay avenue, New Orleans on Monday morning, as the result of a five day's attack of pneumonia. Few men in the United States are as well posted upon matters pertaining to the order named as was Mr. Alfred. For years he had been a Mason, and had taken his thirty-second degree in the order. He was a native of the Crescent city and fifty-four years of age. The Masonic directory shows that Mr. Alfred had held nearly every position in the order. He was the past master of Jefferson Lodge No 191; past high priest of Concord Chapter No. 2 R. A. M.; past thrice illustrious master of Louisiana Council No. 2, R. and S. M. At his death he was an assistant to Grand Secretary Lambert, and was also janitor of the Masonic Temple. He left a wife and four children, two sons and two daughters. At the funeral services the Masonic ceremonies were conducted by Jefferson Lodge.
