She was a lifelong native of New Iberia. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Peter’s Catholic Church on June 17, 2013, at 11 a.m. Readers for the Mass will be Tricia Cooper and Jennifer Allain. Gift bearers will be Avery Hanks, Casey Breaux and Caity Breaux. A gathering of family and friends will be held at Evangeline Funeral Home on June 17, 2013, at 9 a.m. until time of services. Anna Allain was survived by Richard S. Allain Sr., husband of 69 years. Survived by children Patricia A. Rinehart, James F. Allain and wife, Peggy, Emma A. Hanks and husband, Tim, Paul J. Allain and wife, Becky, Peter A. Allain and wife, Aline, Anna Louise Allain, Rita A. Breaux and husband, Harvey; son-in-law Tom Farrell; daughters-in-law Vickie Allain and Regina Allain Viator; 48 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; and her brothers and sisters Mary S. Robbins, Terry S. Broussard, Pierre Schwing, Paul Schwing, Henri S. Daugherty and James Schwing. Proceeded in death by her parents, John E. and Anna B. Schwing; children Beverly A. Farrell, Richard S. Allain Jr. and John C. Allain; and siblings Jules Schwing, Fr. John Schwing and George Schwing. Anna Allain was a graduate of Mt. Carmel Academy and attended Ursaline College for two years in New Orleans. Received her degree in Science from University of Louisiana Lafayette. She was a teacher in Jeanerette where she met her husband, Richard Allain. Together, they founded Allain’s Jewelry and Trophy in New Iberia. The pallbearers are Maj. Richard P. Allain, Johnny Allain Viator, Tommy Farrell, Beau J. Allain, Philip Hanks, Jere Cooper, Jason Paul Allain, Peter Albeo Allain and Ramsey Breaux. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Timothy Viator, Thomas Rinehart, Bart Farrell, Patrick Farrell, David Paul Allain, William Viator and Paul Viator, John Richard Allain, Richard Avery Hanks, Patrick Allain, Maj. Christopher Allain and Daniel Allain. A special thanks and gratitude to Iberia Medical Center, Dr. Kurt Obrien, Dr. Carl Ditch, Dr. Paul Gulotta, and especially to her healthcare providers Carletta Brown, Trachial White, Vera Lewis and Patricia Guillory.
