Grim Reaper claimed another fellow-citizen of New Iberia on Thursday night during the early hours, in the person of Mr. Victor M. Aubry that cast a gloom over the community that only time can eradicate. Mr. Aubry had been in wretched health for several years, but despite his ailment filled the position of chief deputy sheriff under Mr. Landry until his suffering were such that it was necessary that he receive the constant attention of his physician. He was a member of the Columbian Woodmen Lodge of this City and filled the highest office of that fraternal and benevolent institution up to the time of his death. He was a man of firm conviction and strong personality and was held in high esteem by all who knew him. He leaves to mourn his demise besides his grief-stricken widow, four children, three young daughters, one son and two step-daughters, Mrs. Earl Caffery of St. Mary parish and Mrs. Gordon A. Sandoz of this City. The funeral obsequies were conducted by Rev. Langlois of St. Peter's Catholic church yesterday afternoon at five o'clock.
