On Friday, January 11th, the venerable Mr. Benoit B. Bayard, a life-long 
citizen of this Parish died at his home in this City at 5 o'clock P. M. 
Deceased was universally esteemed by all who knew him and his death cast a 
gloom in his household that only time will erase. The funeral occurred from 
St. Peter's Catholic church on Saturday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock in the 
presence of a  large concourse of sympathetic relatives and friends. 
Deceased leaves to mourn his demise seven sons and daughters, among them 
being Mrs. Louis Durocher, Mrs. E. P. Pessam. Mrs. J. G. Duplantis, Miss 
Agnes B., Miss Clemie and Messrs. W. J. and Lawrence Bayard.
