(New Iberia, La.) 1894-1946, June 06, 1914, Image 3 Died: At his late residence, 208 French street, this city, on last Sunday morning, May 31st, at 4:00 o'clock, Capt. A. D. Blanc, a native of this parish, at the age of 64 years. The funeral took place from St. Peters Catholic Church on Sunday evening at 6 o'clock, largely attended by the friends and relatives of the family. IN MEMORIAM. Post "G" of New Iberia, La., T. P. A., announces with great sorrow the death of Capt. A. D. Blanc, a valuable member and an active participant in the affairs of the Association. His hearty co-operation with and his sincere support of the aims and objects of the Post, make his loss at this time greatly felt and much deplored. The faith he had in to day and the hope displayed in the future were an inspiration to his associates. His optimism among his comrades and the sunshine of his nature during the perplexities and dark hours of trouble and confusion were a power and as well a strength to overcome all obstructions and obstacles in the pathway of duty. A scion of one of the oldest families of this country, he bore well the burden and responsibility as father and husband. Surrounded by the respect and dignity of a numerous family, and the sanctity of a pure and happy home, he felt no terrors at the approaching signs of dissolution. Strickened by the fatal touch of an incurable malady, he faced with fortitude and resignation, with courage and many determination, without murmur or complaint, the tortures and pain the affliction visited upon him. Words and expressions are powerless to dissipate the poignant grief of his immediate surroundings, nor can the extending of sympathy and condolence wipe out or dry up one sorrow produced tear from those crushed by the misfortune. But the hand of Frienship, sincerely reflecting the sentiment of the heart and conscience of Post "G", will inevitably hasten the time when we can only remember the incident of a pre ordained and God sanctioned course of human life and existence. May the strength and faith he vouch-safed to the wife and children to overcome the gloom and despair, and immerge into the sunshine of the holiness of human life. Co: Chas. W. Outhwaite, Albert Decourt, Louis Pfister.
