Sunday morning there passed away one of New Iberia's young and well known 
citizen, Edward J. Boas, at the residence of his father, A. C. Boas, on West 
Washington street. Mr. Boas had been confined to his room for many week's by a 
severe illness and while his death was not entirely unexpected it was a shock 
to his many friends throughout the city and community. Deceased was thirty five 
years of age and a resident of this city the greater part of his life, though a 
native of Natchez, Miss. Funeral services were held from the Methodist Church 
Monday at 10 o'clock a m, and remains were laid to there (sic) final resting 
place in the Protestant Cemetery in West End.
