Died at the residence of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Alex 
Bagarry, on Thursday, August 14th, Mrs. Alexandre Boussigues, aged 62 years. 
Her funeral occurred at the Catholic church the following day at 4:30 P. M., 
many sorrowing friends attending.

MRS. ALEXANDRE BOUSSIQUES.

The town was greatly shocked this morning to her (sic) of the death of the 
(fade) Madame Alexandre Boussiques who expired at the home of her daughter, 
Mrs. Alex Bagarry, on West St. Peter street Thursday night at 9:20 o'clock.

Madame Boussique, nee Cecilia Pellerin, was born May 31st, 1840. She was a 
resident of New Iberia for many years, the best days of her life, and leaves 
a long line of descendants and relatives to mourn and suffer her loss. The 
funeral was from St. Peter's Catholic Church Friday at 4 P. M. Her remains 
were followed to the cemetary (sic) by a large number of relatives and 
friends.

This venerable lady had not lived the allotted spiritual time, three score 
and ten, but it was decreed that the invitable (sic) summons should come at 
this hour; and the mourning survivors can only say as the Doctor would 
himself have said, had the power of speech been spared him - "The secret 
things belong unto the Lord",

With one voice the Iberian and the people of New Iberia extend the bereaved 
relatives their heart felt sympathy.
