DEATH OF ARISTIDE BOUTTE

After a long siege of illness, the venerable Mr. Aristide Boutte passed to 
the Beyond on Saturday morning at 12:30 o'clock surrounded by his wife and 
children. Mr. Boutte was a native of New Iberia, and was born on May 10th, 
1850, spending his entire life in our midst where he reared a large family. 
For twenty-three years he was engaged in the undertaking business and at the 
time of his demise was still following the same line of occupation. He 
leaves to mourn his death besides his devoted widow, six grown sons and 
daughters, Messrs. Octave J., Daniel, Julius, Walter and Mrs. Louis Flory 
and Mrs. Amedie Viator. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Langlois 
of St. Peter's Catholic church on Sunday afternoon at four o'clock.

This morning, as we are going to press, we learn that Mr. Aristide Boutte died
last night at about midnight. At this time the arrangements for the funeral have
not been determined. Mrs. Aristide Boutte, who has been so critically ill all the
past week, regained consciousness this morning and requested to see her husband.
Otherwise, she is thought to be but a little better. The members of the family are
all here.
