(New Iberia, La.) 1902-1944, January 08, 1916, Image 7 The acquaintances of Mr. Eloi Broussard were shocked last week upon learning of his drowning in the New Iberia canal. Mr. Broussard engaged in the business of fishing, and every week sold at our City Market large quantities of fish and crabs which he caught in the Bay and on Thursday fell out of his boat and lost his life. On the following Saturday his remains were found and brought to New Iberia for burial. He leaves a wife and four children to mourn his demise.
